Trying for a baby?

Trying for a baby is a very exciting time in a couple’s life. It may seem surprising to know however, that even a perfectly healthy couple in their 20’s have only a 1 in 4 chance of conceiving in each cycle. So if getting pregnant takes a while, there is generally nothing to worry about. Still, many couples planning a family might want to take some positive steps to maximise their chances of conceiving a baby naturally.

Most people don’t realise that there are only a few days in a woman’s cycle when making love can result in conception – and only 2 days when it is most likely. So achieving the goal of pregnancy can just be a matter of better timing.

Most people don’t realise that there are only a few days in a woman’s cycle when making love can result in conception – and only 2 days when it is most likely. So achieving the goal of pregnancy can just be a matter of better timing.

You can pinpoint these ‘best chance’ days by using a reliable and easy-to-use urine tests - such as Clearblue Ovulation Tests or Clearblue Digital Ovulation Test - that detect the Luteinising Hormone (LH) surge which occurs approximately 24-36 hours prior to ovulation.

Another option is to use the Clearblue Fertility Monitor, which is proven to help women conceive.* It not only detects the LH surge and pinpoints these two Peak Fertility days, but also identifies the additional fertile days when you may conceive (High Fertility days) by detecting the rise in estrogen which occurs immediately before this LH surge.

* Within first 2 cycles of use, based on a study of 302 women who used the Clearblue Fertility Monitor for 2 cycles compared to a control group of 347 women who did not use the Clearblue Fertility Monitor.
